The Men: A Minor
One of my favorite albums of 2012 so far is Open Your Heart by The Men, who today made available the non-album single, "A Minor." The track is being featured in a compilation that their record label Sacred Bones Records will be issuing for Record Store Day dubbed, Todo Muere Vol. 2. An 8 minutes psych jam, "A Minor" is a free floating desert rocker that tempts you to wallow in a daze but ultimately makes your head nod.

The Men have already played 58 shows in 2012 - their North American tour ended on Sunday. Now, two days later, The Men are pleased to announce their West Coast tour which will kick off in June. Before June rolls around, The Men will head back to Europe to perform at the legendary Primavera Sound Festival & Field Day Festival.
Sacred Bones will be releasing their Record Store Day follow-up, Todo Muere Vol. 2. The compilation features an unreleased 8minute slow-burning jam / head banger from The Men, entitled "A Minor". Check it out on Pitchfork.
About The Men
Over the last three years, The Men have dabbled in everything from hardcore punk to psych to shoegaze to black metal; and they have done all of it effortlessly, and for the most part, flawlessly. Totally removed from the current climate of a.d.d-youtube-blog-hyped generation of musicians under 21, The Men stand out from the pack as both scene elders and actual record collectors. On the band's 3rd full length, The Men explore twangy country music, guitar solos, surf-ish riffs, psych, and just about errrry-thing in between. Open your heart & let in, The Men.
